Spreading the Success

iHeartMedia, Inc. along with applying themselves methods of media convergence to their advertising and marketing process, provide a platform for other companies to do so as well. With over 850 radio stations to choose from, companies are given the opportunity to advertise locally to millions of listeners. "Individual station brands give advertisers the ability to connect with diverse audiences in local markets across the country."

iHeartMedia, Inc. employs cross-media convergence by expanding beyond the radio, allowing other companies to benefit from their expansion as well. For example, their radio personalities have over 17 million fans on Facebook. Companies can contact iHeartMedia to advertise their products through the radio personalities' Facebook page. This example demonstrates the process of synergy in two phases. Phase 1, a radio production converging to social media. Phase 2, a third party of any media using the expansion of a radio company to advertise. "
iHeartMedia continues to be one of the most popular digital music destinations in the U.S. and provides unique digital assets with massive reach to create innovative campaigns and programs for key advertising and marketing partners."

What Radio Companies Are Thankful For

This holiday season we are thankful for all the things that make us happy and successful, but what about huge radio companies? What are they thankful for? Simple, just like individuals, a company is thankful for what makes them successful.

Many times a key component to huge success is the process of synergy; specifically how it is used in the area of marketing. This ingredient to success is efficiently and effectively used in one of the largest companies in the radio business, iHeartMedia, Inc. (formally known as Clear Channel). iHeartMedia radio has over 110 million listeners a week largely due to it's marketing approach which focuses heavily on using other forms of media from "the standard to the spectacular"

Through a compilation of billboards, street furniture, subway systems, and spectacolor displays, iHeartMedia has created a self-sustaining, self-promoting, system. This is a true example of media convergence within a single company which has allowed it to expand to more than 20,000 employes in over 40 countries. provides  "a spectrum of multi-platform advertising and marketing opportunities" for not only their partners, but especially for themselves.
